Citizen7 Indy Trail Ride — September 26
Join us on Saturday, September 26th for a half-day adventure exploring Indianapolis by bike.
We'll meet at Polk Stables at 8:00 AM and set out on a roughly 35-mile loop through some of the city's best trails and greenways. Along the way we'll ride the Monon, Fall Creek Trail, Nickel Plate Trail, Canal Towpath, White River Trail, and a bit of the Cultural Trail, with plenty of variety in scenery and terrain.
We'll have faster and slower groups, so whether you're a regular cyclist or just getting back on the bike, you're welcome. We'll regroup along the way and make a few stops to enjoy the city, the trails, and each other's company.
We'll stop for brunch in Broad Ripple, at which point you can choose your own adventure:
Short Route: Head back to Polk Stables via the Monon — approximately 27 miles total, almost entirely paved.
Full Loop: Continue on the Canal Towpath and White River Trail to complete the full loop — approximately 35 miles, with some gravel.
Details:
Part of the fun is that this is a chance to experience Indianapolis a little differently. We'll pass through neighborhoods, parks, trails, and public spaces that most of us probably don't encounter in a single day, and hopefully return with a few new ideas about the city we call home.
And, as with our original plan, the ride is ultimately an excuse for something more: to build friendships, to pay attention to the places we're passing through, and to make a little space for reflection and spiritual practice along the way.
Whether you've ridden hundreds of miles this year or you're dusting off a bike that's been sitting in the garage, we'd love to have you.
Come explore our city together.
